The project

During the pandemic, the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) conducted a detailed survey about their members’ engagement with the CSI community. CSI wanted to know if they truly do create beautiful, healthy, vibrant workspaces where people can connect and grow.

Challenge Factory was tasked to take the hundreds of pages of data produced by the survey and turn the findings into a compelling publication that would foster community engagement and provide a foundation for future-focused strategic planning.

The outcome

We created a series of interwoven stories that reflect and are informed by CSI’s membership survey findings. The characters in the stories were developed with the use of research personas that represent the professional identities, demographics, motivations, attitudes, and experiences of CSI’s members.

Priority work includes developing a creative publication design that allowed us to present the survey results, analysis, and insights alongside the stories—cultivating human connection and empathy from robust data that can feel dry or abstract.

The publication was submitted to CSI’s leadership team in 2023.

This Challenge Factory research advances four of the five drivers shaping the Future of Work:
